Distinctive portal canopies designed by EDAW AECOM for the entrance of the Clem 7 tunnel in Brisbane, Australia have been described as "awesome sculpture" by the Brisbane Times.
The structures, inspired by the tree canopies of Brisbane's natural environment, function to filter light and help drivers' eyes adjust as they enter the tunnel. Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman calls them "absolutely sensational... urban artwork."
